Greenwich
Encompass was commissioned by The Crown Charity, Greenwich Hospital. Encompass is made up of 210 figures that form a huge open bronze sphere. These figures represent the serving and retired personnel from The Royal Navy and Royal Marines who receive support from the charity. Each individual is unique and has been moulded and impressed with objects and words that reference their lives and location. They form a protective shield that travels up the sphere culminating in a domed roof which is a reference to the architectural style of Sir Christopher Wren, who designed The Royal Naval College Greenwich.
