As ever it's quite a mad time for me, this year I am showing a collection of my latest work, created last year for my Mayfair solo show. So days are filled with visits to the foundry, finalising the stand design and completing a work called Nourish which has been commissioned for Kate Gould's show garden - City Living.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show is from Tuesday 23rd -Saturday 27th May. My stand is CFS17, close to Kate Gould's show garden - City Living and the Grand Pavilion. Do drop by, all the best people do!

Day's like today

It’s been an amazing journey since my first day at Chelsea College of Arts to extraordinary days like today – the installing of half a ton of  bronze lowering the piece by hydraulic crane into the middle of a Koi Carp pond.  Sculpting is a passion and one that I am privileged to share with many others in such diverse walks of life.

We have been working on a new website which is really an incredible archive and gallery of my work, I hope you will enjoy!

I have just completed the film which we made at my solo show at The Clarendon Gallery back in November – I hope you enjoy seeing the work again and thank you all for your support – here’s to a healthy and happy 2017!

A big thank you to all who came on Wednesday night, a fabulous opening night, the gallery had never had so many guests in one evening nor served so much champagne!

 At the end of the night I realised that, despite spinning like a top, I missed welcoming everyone but just to let you know, I am so grateful that you made the time to come and see my work.

This show of bronze sculptures is inspired by my newly created 'Encompass', which was unveiled earlier this year, in Greenwich, by HRH Prince Andrew, Duke of York. I have created several brand new, exciting pieces for this show, including a small version of the original Encompass, which was a staggering 2.4m sphere. The smaller version might be a slightly more suitable size for most! 

I will be showing over 30 pieces at The Clarendon from Thursday 24th November through to mid December, so I do hope you can come along. The private view is on Wednesday 23rd November from 6.00-8.30pm - if you would like an invitation, please drop me an email.

Encompass

I am delighted to have just completed Encompass, a small version of the commission which was unveiled earlier this year, it will be on show for the first time at my solo show, Encompass next month. This extraordinary bronze sphere with a 40cm diameter took a staggering 800 hours to compete, delicate yet extremely strong it throws the most mesmerising shadows from the interlinking bronze figures that make up it’s structure.

A limited edition of the unique figures, Encompassing Sailors will be available in bronze, just 30cm in length; I thought they would make the most stunning paperweights.

Art for Cure

It was a real privilege to have my work included in the second Art for Cure Exhibition, which was held at Glemham Hall, Suffolk, this weekend. Through the sale of art and sculpture they managed to raise a staggering £175,000, which will be donated to charities to help in the cure and care of breast cancer patients. There were more than 400 pieces of work from over 60 artists and sculptors, all displayed beautifully in the stunning gardens and interiors of this Elizabethan Hall.

Encompass is Unveiled

Today was the big day, Encompass was unveiled in Greenwich by HRH Prince Andrew, Duke of York.

I have been fortunate enough to see my sculptures travel to many parts of the world. The opportunity to deliver a commission in the heart of Greenwich, my home for the past thirty years, feels like a joyous return in the wake of a long voyage of my own.

Commissioned by the Crown Charity, Greenwich Hospital, this powerful work is made up of 210 figures, which form an open bronze sphere. The individuals represent serving and retired personnel from the Royal Navy and Royal Marines who receive support from the charity.

Each individual is unique and has been moulded and impressed with objects and words that reference their lives and locations. They form a protective shield that travels up the sphere culminating in a domed roof, which is a reference to the architectural style of Sir Christopher Wren, who originally designed The Royal Navel College , in Greenwich.
